What’s the deal with women and chocolate? Why do most of us love it so much? Researchers all over the world have asked themselves this question and even though they all come with slightly different conclusions, one thing’s for sure. It makes us happy. Chocolate contains an amino acid called tryptophan that is used by the brain to make serotonin, a neurotransmitter that produces happy feelings. In much easier language: eating chocolate can be compared to taking a happy pill. No wonder we sometimes crave it so much during that time of the month.
But don’t get confused, chocolate isn’t just a women’s guilty pleasure. Men enjoy this bittersweet treat just as much. Milka’s new campaign proves that even the toughest guys out there, have a milky soft inside.
Besides, ever since the news of dark chocolate being beneficial for our health came out we all got a great excuse to indulge in some chocolate once in a while. The antioxidants found in chocolate prevent cancers, control high blood pressure and promote cardiac health. Enough reasons for all of us to run to the store and buy ourselves a well deserved, “healthy” snack. Just don’t go too crazy… 😉
