Last weekend it was Museum Night in Amsterdam. Together with Stijlmeisje I made an overnight route along the many museums (more than 50!) which were open that night. The evening kicked off at the Tropenmuseum where we discovered the world of the 60s, a silent disco and some interesting things of the Moroccan culture.
Then the wind blew us to our next destination: Artis. Here we took a dip under the sea. We even got a behind the scenes tour of the aquarium! Did you know that some fish can cause electric shocks?
In between we went back and forth to Amsterdam South-East to experience the Heesterveld-niegbourhood. Solid underground concerts, interactive poetry and lively acoustic concerts (i.a. Liloe Rix!).
Back in the city centre we visited Foam (I can’t resist this place…) and Huis Marseille. In the latter was an impressive photo exhibition and you could dance in the basement.
We ended the night at Pianola. Not a bad choice at all, as it would appear. It felt stepping back in time, 100 years ago. Music, poetry which was recited (Oscar Wilde), a glass of wine… A perfect spot to close Museum Night 2015. Can’t wait for next year!
