Style Talks

A SELECTED BUNCH OF PEOPLE, 10 SHORT QUESTIONS AND 10 FASHIONABLE/REFRESHING/INSPIRATIONAL/AMUSING ANSWERS. THOSE ARE THE INGREDIENTS FOR STYLE TALKS. THIS TIME WE TALKED WITH ANNEBETH WEBB, VIOLINIST WITH THE ROYAL CONCERTGEBOUW ORCHESTRA.

Her violin, built by the Neapolitan instrument builder Nicolaus Gagliano in 1711, is one of the most important things in life for Annebeth. Annebeth studied with (a.o.) Coosje Wijzenbeek, who was also the violin teacher of Janine Jansen. She has participated in masterclasses in Brussels, Salzburg and Aspen and she joined the second violin section of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in September 2001 (she got this job even before she graduated!). Annebeth is also co-founder of the ensemble Camerata RCO, which has given performances in and outside the Netherlands since 2012. For example: this January they will play in Korea and in March even in Hawaii. So yes, busy lady she is! Because besides all the above mentioned, she’s also a mother of four children….

This Christmas (the 24th of December) she will be playing during “Klassiek in de loods”, a classic concert on a unique, raw location in Amsterdam. Fun thing is that all people who are named Mary and pregnant women can go in for free (and if you bring you’re grandmother she can go in for free too).
