The most wonderful time of the year is almost there. Christmas is coming! We all want to have a white Christmas this year but we already experienced a lot of snow the last few days. Although, I still hope we will have a white Christmas. The Christmas Holidays are also a moment to relax. Our stress level is way higher these days. We have deadlines for work or school, we have to buy presents for our dearest, the weather is changing, etc. All factors why we are getting stressed before Christmas. Therefore, it’s a nice moment to enjoy some good movies. Hot chocolate with whipped cream, snacks and a good movie. Sounds great and relaxing, right?

1 – The Holiday
A Christmas movie everyone must see. Camerion Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black. All these actors in one movie make sure you’re watching a very good Christmas movie. The movie is about two women, both troubled with guy-problems, who swap homes in each other’s countries. They meet each other’s local friend and brother and fall in love.

2 – Beauty and the Beast
Disney films are always a good idea! This movie is an adaptation of the fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman named Belle who fall in love. Belle learns to look beyond the looks of the beast and to see his heart. It’s not about the looks, but about the inside. Besides this movie, you can also choose an old-school Disney-movie, for example The Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King or Jungle Book.

3 – Home Alone
Home Alone can’t be missed in this list of Christmas movies. Luckily, there are four parts. My favourite one is part 1. Kevin, an eight-year-old boy and his family are going on a holiday to celebrate Christmas somewhere else, with the whole family. Unfortunately, they accidentally forgoe about Kevin. Because of that, Kevin is home alone during the holidays. He has to protect his house from a couple of burglars. Laughter is guaranteed!

4 – Girls Trip
When you read the name of this movie, I think you already know what the movie is about. Four lifelong friends travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence festival. Enough dancing, drinking, brawling and partying to make the Big Easy blush. Invite your friends to come over and watch this movie with your besties. Perhaps you can make plans for your own girl’s trip!

5 – Beasts of no Nation (for those who’re looking for a more dramatic touch)
This movie is really heart-breaking. However, this movie deserves more attention. It’s a heavy movie to watch, but really worth your time. The movie is based on the experience of Agu. He is a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country. His father is murdered and the rest of his family ran away to save themselves. Agu has no other choice than fighting for his unnamed country. He hates the war and seeing so much people getting hurt or dying. On the contrary, his interest and fascination about the war is growing. A real conflict in his head. This is the rough story of a child soldier.
