These months are full of must-visit exhibitions. Last week we already wrote about some really swell events, but here are even some more exhibitions to add to that list!:

Arte e Eleganza – fashion photography by Gian Paolo Barbieri

Italian fashion photographer Gian Paolo Barbieri is considered one of the best international fashion photographers in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Because of his work in close collaboration with fashion designer Valentino, Barbieri was responsible for innovations in modern fashion advertising campaigns. With Arte e Eleganza he presents a selection of classic portraits of stylish women, in black/white and colour. Photographs of international icons which include Audrey Hepburn, Monica Bellucci and the always stunning Sophia Loren (who will turn 80 this year!!).

Cartier: Style and History

The new exhibition at the Grand Palais, “Cartier: Style and History,” promises a menagerie of jewels ranging from the mid-nineteenth century to the 1970s. In the gargantuan Salon d’Honneur, some 600 pieces of jewelry, objects, and timepieces are on display alongside magazine spreads and advertising pages from parallel epochs. Structured thematically (and not strictly chronologically), the exhibit offers a study of Cartier’s styles and influences rather than simply offering up a lesson in fine jewelry.
