A SELECTED BUNCH OF PEOPLE, 10 SHORT QUESTIONS AND 10 FASHIONABLE/REFRESHING/INSPIRATIONAL/AMUSING ANSWERS. THAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS FOR STYLE TALKS. THIS TIME WE TALKED WITH FASHION DESIGNER MICHAEL BARNAART VAN BERGEN.
Dutch fashion designer Michael Barnaart van Bergen (1983) presented his first couture collection during the Amsterdam fashion week in 2008. In 2009, he launched his first ready-to-wear collection and since then he has focused on this luxurious type of fashion. In the meantime, various fashion pieces have been exhibited in (inter)national museums. Michael’s work is characterized by a clear design and unique graphic designs. The collections are all produced with eye for the environment and available in limited editions in its boutique at The Hague or via www.michaelbarnaartvanbergen.com
One nice collaboration to mention here is the one Michael has at the moment with the Hague festival Classique. He created a unique performance for this festival: Movement. At the heart of this performance is the Mondriaan dress from the designer’s collection. The performance Movement will be played on the 16th and 18th of June at the Kurhaus in Scheveningen.
